2 Weeks And Counting, Got BEER?

I have been away for a week and Hily G was here the week before. As a result, I have not kept up with my posting (as my good friend "The Dave" has pointed out).

The time with Hily was wonderful, however, I only wish that I could have spent more time with her other than the evenings after work. The vacation with the family was great, having spent 2 days in Put In Bay and getting a decent little tan.

I came back Saturday to the comforts of Queens, New York only to find that most of my neighborhood was without power. I, however, still had power and it appears that I never lost it.

Last night while looking for something to do, I ventured a few blocks to purchase a 6 pack of beverage. I walked into the corner store, passing a Blockbuster that was closed because of no power, and was happily surprised to find that their cooler full of beer was cold. So I purchased a 6-pack of frosty brew and proceeded to the checkout woman who was watching the tele and being cooled by the great breeze from outside. I commented that she had it made, being in the cool breeze and watching tv. She told me that it makes up for the AC that was not working. I looked towards the AC and my jaw dropped as I saw the other wall full of coolers completely dark. She said that only half of their power was working, which is more than most people in the neighborhood.

The best part is that the beer cooler was full of cold beer and the other coolers were full of produce (milk and the like) that was completely rancid. No one thought to move it to the beer cooler, or there was just no demand for milk - good ole Queens!

Glad to hear the beer is safe...
How about that loaf of bread and apples in your fridge? I'm assuming they aren't safe... and as rancid as the milk in Queens.

Thanks for the shout out. I had a great time, JMe.

Sometimes you get gold mine and sometimes you get the shaft. James, you had a gold mine kind of night.
